Aircraft Maintenance Engineering program at School of Aeronautics Neemrana has been approved by the DGCA. The license Examination is conducted by the DGCA. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or AME is a special course involving a technical license that deals with the testing maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft. An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer also deals with the difficulties faced by an aircraft. The post of an AME is essentially important for flying an aircraft. Without the consent or permission of a licensed AME, an aircraft cannot leave the ground. AMEs maintain the aircraft in flying condition. AMEs are even considered the backbone of Aviation.

In India, the license of AME is provided by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) once a candidate clears the required level of tests. The DGCA license is recognized internationally by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)

The streams in AME are basically divided into two parts: • Mechanical • Avionics The mechanical section of AME deals with engines, wings, and other such components. The license of AME – Mechanical is categorized as the B1 license. The Avionics section basically deals with the electronic components of an aircraft such as the electrical system, instrumental system, radio navigation, and communication.

The scope of Aircraft Mantainence Engineers at the moment is high in India. Further, given the current rate of growth of the aviation sector in India, it is safe to say that the jobs related to AME will only increase in the future. Currently, the Indian Aviation industry is the most discussed one in the world. The UDAN project in India also greatly favors the aviation sector with 100 new airports planned. The packages offered are good and are bound to become better with further growth
